A hotstone massage is a body massage using stones heated up to 45°C. (113 °F) This is where the name hot stone comes from. The heat and the ‘pressure’ coming from the stones penetrate the muscles deeply. The hot stone massage decreases tension and will result in a lot of energy afterwards.

We only use rounded basalt stones. Basalt is a hard and iron ferruginous, vulcanic stone with high density. Because of this the stones will retain their heat well.

We’ll douse these stones in a hotwater-bath en will be placed on the bodies’ places that require attention, first. (usually your back) This results in a pleasant heat and relaxation. The stones bring a certain pressure which can be compared to a stretches. You will especially notice this when the stone is removed.
